![]() February 12th As shock and grief turned into positive memories of the life and talents of Alexander McQueen fashion presses on with day two of New York Fashion Week. Israeli designer Yigal Azrouel presented a collection for both women and men. He had a considerably more relax approach than last season. Many of his looks were big and woolly with something of an apres-ski feel. Also notable was his use of patchwork patterns and hybrid materials especially leather resin. Australian transplant Michael Angel called his second Bryant Park collection 'The New Eccentric'. His rough around the edges looks had names like Criminal Dress and Blade Coat. There was definitely a real 1940’s Mildred Pierce criminal chic classiness. Sean Lennon and Kelly Osborne were in the front row. A touch of sadness was in the air at the start of Christian Siriano’s show when one remembered that he apprenticed for Alexander McQueen and what a huge influence the designer had on the Project Runway season four winner. Siriano’s collection was inspired by the 1960’s European woman. It was wonderfully sophisticated and clever with some fantastic choices and combination of fabrics. His execution was impeccable better than the real thing. Co-hosted by The Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson and Naomi Campbell Fashion For Relief - Haiti NYC, 2010 featured over 100 top designers such as Marc Jacobs, Gucci, D-Squared, Oscar de la Renta and much more. Participating celebrities were just as diverse with everyone from Heidi Klum, Chris Brown, Fran Lebowitz and Diane von Furstenberg. Individual tickets went for an estimated $350 each. The donated garments will be auctioned online at NET-A-PORTER starting February 15th. The was a touching tribute to Alexander McQueen.
